As the Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer at the University of Michigan, Dr. Pendse is at the forefront of technological innovation in both academia and industry. Dr. Pendse passionately addresses the critical issues of bias, ethics, and hallucinations in AI, emphasizing the importance of informed evaluation and responsible use of this powerful technology. Calvin Chao, MD, is a trailblazer in the integration of technology and AI in health care, currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs at Tempus Labs. With a rich background as a board-certified internist and hospitalist at Kaiser Permanente, Dr. Chao brings more than 10 years of clinical practice and more than two decades in various leadership positions focused on medical affairs, research, and clinical development. Tempus Labs is on a mission to revolutionize personalized medical care and diagnosis through the development of cutting-edge platforms capable of ingesting real-time health care data. Dr. Chao’s extensive expertise in clinical development and his innovative approach to utilizing AI in health care make him a compelling voice in the field. David Ninan, DO, is a visionary leader, passionate about the future of medical education and technological innovation. As the Dean and Chief Academic Officer at KHSU-KansasCOM, Dr. Ninan is dedicated to exploring how AI could be harnessed to revolutionize learning to support faculty and improve student outcomes. With a rich background that includes serving as Medical Staff President at Riverside University Health System in California and playing a pivotal role in curriculum development, residency program oversight, and national accreditation processes, Dr. Ninan brings a wealth of experience to his role. His work at KHSU has focused on advancing the medical curriculum that embraces the latest in patient care and leans into the future of medical technology.
