Kansas Health Science University Commencement

Join us for a milestone moment in our university’s history as we honor the inaugural class of Kansas Health Science University’s Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine. This ceremony marks not only the achievements of our students but also the beginning of a new chapter in advancing health care across Kansas and beyond.

Guest Information

Each graduate will receive up to 12 tickets for guests to attend the ceremony.
Please have your ticket ready and easily accessible when you arrive.
The doors open at 9 a.m., and we encourage guests to arrive early.

Students, faculty, and staff who are participating in the ceremony do not need a ticket.

The commencement ceremony will include:

  • Presentation of Honorary Degree
  • Address to the Graduates from Richard R. Thacker, DO, MACOI, President-elect of the American Osteopathic Association
  • Presentation of Candidates for Degrees for the Class of 2026
  • Recitation of the Osteopathic Oath
  • Commissioning of Military Officers
  • Graduate Reflection
  • Welcome to the Alumni Association

Doors open at 9 a.m. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to allow time for parking and seating. The procession begins at 9:50 a.m.

Allow for 2 hours.

Once the ceremony concludes, graduates and guests are welcome to attend an on-site reception with hors d’oeuvres, photo opportunities, and time to connect and say goodbye.

General Admission: Open seating in all non-reserved sections. Choose any available seat.

Reserved Sections: Seating is assigned and marked according to your ticket. For assistance, please see an attendant.

Special Participants: Guest hooders and other designated participants have reserved seating and will receive additional information prior to graduation. For assistance, please see an attendant.

KHSU has contracted The Grad Team to photograph the commencement ceremony. The Grad Team will capture professional photos of graduates throughout the event, including as they cross and exit the stage. Approximately four days after the ceremony, graduates will receive an email with a link to view photo proofs. Photos can also be accessed directly by visiting www.thegradteam.com/kansascom.
